I am trying to connect Excel to SAP HANA via ODBC connection. Even though I was able to get the job done using MDX queries, I could not connect to HANA via ODBC - when I try, I get the following error message: The Data Connection Wizard cannot obtain a list of databases from the specified data source. On the contrary, I can easily connect Access to HANA, exploiting this type of connection.
Does anyone know why the connection between HANA and Access via ODBC is straightforward, while it is merely impossible to connect to Excel?
