I've asked this question a few times now in various areas but never really got a satisfactory explanation to make be go: "Ahaaa"...
Is it clear cut as to when you use a CDS view or when you use a Calculation view...
I notice that in most examples of Fiori apps on HANA that they are based on data from Calculation Views. Is there a reason or were CV's just the flavour of the month at the time.
The capabilities of CDS are greatly enhanced in recent versions of SAP HANA... And I also notice that in S4 the whole HANA Live layer of Calculation Views is being replaced by CDS.
So as a general best practice - would you always go CDS views first and only calculation views when you need some of the more esoteric functionality that they provide...? I'm coming from the perspective of an application developer here and not from a BW modelling perspective.
