TileContainer vs Tile Catalog

Hi Experts,

first, this is not a questiona about SAPUI5, I know this is a HANA Forum, and I promisse the question below is HANA related.

I'm building an application and initially, I've built my initial screen (lauchpad) using the SAPUI5 TileContainer component, which basically means that I'm creating the screen all by my own. In this screen I show several "Fiori Like" Apps, as the standard lauchpad does.

But now that I need to implement different profiles, and each profile will see different combinations of apps, I wonder if would be better, and here comes the HANA question, if would be better to use the standard Lauchpad, by using Tile Catalogs, as described in the documentation (Create a Tile Catalog - SAP HANA Developer Guide for SAP HANA Studio - SAP Library).

My question is, what is the main difference? What are the major advantages of using Tile Catalog? The complexity of creating several different catalogs, considering each profile seems to be big...

Please let me know your comments about one and another.

Thanks and regards,

Roberto Falk
