Hi everyone,
I'm really interested in SAP HANA and i'm trying to build a reporting solution.
My environment is - SAP HANA with the amazon cloud,
- SAP BO 4.0
- Data Services 4.0.
- non-SAP sources : oracle, mysql,...
My aim was to use SAP Hana as a datawarehouse : so here what i've done :
- Using Data Services i have created my own fact & dimension tables
- with HANA Studio i loaded those tables into SAP HANA
- with BusinessObjects 4.0 i connected to SAP HANA and built my universes on the loaded tables ( fact & dimensions )
- i've created some reports
So i have a working reporting solution but i'm feeling it's not the right way to do it.
Why ? because i didn't used any calculation and analytics view.
So how to improve ?
First how can i reduce the modeling workload : building a datawarehouse with Data Services could be time consuming : can the modeling be made inside sap HANA environment ( with hana studio ) ?
- How can i take advantage of the analytic / calculation view ? : i'm having some heavy calculation need.
I'm not very confident on how the view are used into BO4 : the universe building seem similar to the view modeling.
Can anlyone help me on those issues ?
