Top down distribution on HANA

Hi COPA Experts,

Most of the large maufacturing organisation often face challenges in allocation of cost data to different levels of profitability segmnents in ERP, escpecially the allocations (assessment & top down distribution of data) in a flexible manner. Reasons differ from org to org, but the common challenge is the flexibility to allocate data based on flexible drivers using different approaches. Post cost allocation another challenge is to re-concile data with Financial accounting component.

I understand that HANA acts as a secondary database to COPA ERP DB tables & helps in reducing processing timelines & effort. However, this is just 1 single benefit of using HANA.

The main problem is does HANA provide felxibility to allocate costs in more flexible manner? To elabore my question, which is more related to the standard KE28 top down distribution functionality in ERP (even if i consider the enhanced TDD like KE28L,T,R etc). To me still the standard TDD cockpit is yet to be evolved to provide more flexible allocation techniques & options to the business.

Is it possible in HANA to perform COPA TDD & allocations (dont think so), like using reference data from external sources, distributing data to granular levels based on business conditions (may be these custom techniques can be mainatined in ERP or standard TDD cockpit, which is currently not possible), Year to date cumulation (not period cumulation) of costs & allocation to PA segements, etc? If this possible in HANA ?

SAP TDD cockpit allows monthly allocation to PA segments but not YTD cumulation of costs and not much flexibility of using drivers etc.

This question is more on a broader level, apart from the only utility of fast reporting in HANA. Afterall every organisation is interested for more flexible management reporting based on custom allocation techniques (mentioned above) in COPA.

Regards,

Amol
