'.xsapp' - File, Example from Developer Guide, error during activation

Hi and happy new year,

I am just working my way through the SP05 developer guide and am stuck on page 74... in the 'hello world' program. So much for a promising start to a new year

Anyway, when I try to activate my project I get the following error message:

"Invalid JSON found in XSA for app..."

The highlighted resource is the '.xsapp' file which is empty as recommended in the guide.

Any ideas?
