Hi all,
We are currently implementing our HANA system (BW) and have decided (for now at least) to use system replication for DR purposes. I have to say that we have not as yet set up the testing environments.
My question is around a DR test scenario as follows:
- We will have a running system with A replicating to B. Obviously the originally synchronization will have been done.
- We will (most likely) be using Sync in memory replication.
- We wish to "break the link", and do a basic DR test using B after firstly taking a backup of B.
- During this time, we want A to continue in update mode.
- At the end of the DR test we want to restore the backup of B and then re-establish the link and switch replication back on.
The question is around firstly what happens when replication is restarted and specifically if a full synchronization will take place fro A to B or is only the deltas will then be applied?
