ABAP counterparts in Hana

Hello Experts,

I am new to the Hana environment and hence some basic questions -

1. How do I find if a substring ‘*+’ or ‘+’ exists in a string (varchar) using SQL script?

Is there anything corresponding to ‘ca’ in ABAP?

2. What is the counterpart of ABAP sy-subrc in hana? It has to be a separate output parameter, explicitly returned?

3. Should new views be created for all logics which can be put in function modules in ABAP?
